“ITEM ENGINEERING” JSC is the successor of “Basis of technical development in construction of boilers and chemical engineering” boiler construction factory “Georgi Kirkov”- Sofia. It was established on 23 April 1963 with the object of design, construction and research and development activities. From 1963 to 1991 the company was restructured several times within the Ministry of Industry. In 1991 “ITEM – Engineering” has already become a leading institute in the field of heat engineering, energy and chemical engineering. With its engineering ITEM serves nearly all major industrial projects in the energy and chemical industry in the country as – Central NPP Himko Vratsa, Burgas Neftochim, chemical plants Devnya, the copper factory Pirdop, MC Kremikovci “Heavy Machinery” – Radomir and other objects of national importance. As a leading company in its sector ITEM has actively participated in the construction of the biggest factories for heavy investment equipment in Bulgaria – TMG Radomir ZHM Pleven, Ruse TMG, ZHM Haskovo and others.
In 1991 the company was transformed into a stock company with limited liability – “ITEM Engineering” JSC. In 1997 the company was registered in the commercial register of the Sofia City Court.
“ITEM Engineering” has 2500 m2 covered manufacturing area. The company sells its products not only in Bulgaria but also in countries such as Russia, Poland, India, Germany, Czech Republic, Cuba, Serbia, Hungary, Turkey, Italy and many others. In recent years, “ITEM Engineering” has worked very successful in the internal market in partnership with foreign companies.
In 2001 “ITEM Consult” Ltd was founded as a subsidiary of “ITEM Engineering” JSC. The principal activities of the company include:
- Marketing researches and testing of heating equipment and pressure vessels
- Technical supervision of dangerous equipment
- Certification of products
- Conformity assessment of gas appliances and equipment
- Mediation
- Commission activities
In 2008 a limited liability company “ITEM Solar” was created. The company’s scope of activity includes design, supply, installation and service of solar water heating systems. Using the ITEM long experience in the field of thermal engineering, “ITEM Solar” offers on the Bulgarian market innovative solutions for the utilization of solar energy
